Soprano, Sarah Benzinger, has had the joy of performing both in the United States and abroad, traveling to perform with the Berlin Opera Academy and teach in Mexico with Opera Tijuana, Costa Rica with Opera Nova, performing in the Historic Tabor Opera House in Leadville, Colorado, appearing with the Oregon Bach Collegium, Lyric Opera of San Jose, Cascadia Concert Opera, Humboldt Light Opera, Portland Summer Opera Workshop, Vivace Vancouver, Chamber Music Silicon Valley, Redwood Symphony and at the Astoria Music Festival.

An active recitalist and stage performer, she is currently engaged with West Bay Opera in Palo Alto, CA singing the role of Zerlina in Don Giovanni.  Previously, she appeared as Prilepa in Pique Dame with West Bay Opera and Erste Dame in Die Zauberflöte with Opera Modesto. Prior to the pandemic, she sang Anna in Nabucco with West Bay Opera, Musetta in La Boheme with MiOpera and singing Second Witch with Capitol Opera Sacramento in their production of Dido and Aeneas. Sarah covered the role of Jane Bennett in the world premiere recording of Kirke Mechem’s Pride and Prejudice. Other roles include Amore (L’incoronazione di Poppea), Gretel (Hänsel und Gretel), Euridice (Orfeo ed Euridice), Laetitia (The Old Maid and the Thief), Dido (Dido and Aeneas), and Monica (The Medium).

Sarah was a Regional Finalist at the NW Metropolitan National Council Auditions as well as a District Winner and District Encouragement Winner in the MONC auditions. She was a Semi-Finalist in the Brava! Opera and James M. Collier Young Artist Competition, and was a Finalist in the East Bay Opera League Competition, Caroline and Dominick Argento Vocal Competition, the Coeur d’Alene Symphony Competition, and the Palm Springs Opera Guild Competition.
